3121 is a new feature being offered by National Journal Group to people who work on Capitol Hill. Part dynamic directory, part online professional network, 3121 arms congressional members and their staff with the content and contact information they need to do their jobs more effectively....
About
What is 3121?
Along with many from the technology community and within government, National Journal recognizes that using “the Cloud” (i.e., the Internet) to research and connect is the way of the future. Not only does it reduce reliance on printed paper, but it also allows for an enhanced and accelerated experience - from searching, to sharing, to tagging, to adding a human layer. It is in this spirit that National Journal has built this professional tool to aid Congress and their staff in their day to day responsibilities.
As an extension of NationalJournal.com, 3121 offers key dimensions to accelerate connections and enable accurate contact-related research:
- A Dynamic Online Directory – 3121 is accurate and complete from the beginning with pre-populated content, but also allows community members to update their own profiles. If you are promoted, have a new assignment, switch phone numbers or join Twitter, you can instantly update your information. Stay informed of others on the move; share your updates as well. It’s like a paper directory, only it is interactive, browse-able and published continuously.
- Customizable Legislative News – 3121 puts you in control and allows for a customizable dashboard and customized news. The more you get to know the system and the more it gets to know you, the more 3121 will rearrange and deliver you what you need, when and where you need it. From news on your issues and member, to positioning your own profile front and center, 3121 gives you what you need to make it your own.
